Baking Crumbs

Baking is always something I have enjoyed and something I grew up doing with my parents and grandparents. Whether it was Christmas cakes, banana bread, make-a-face cookies or cupcakes it was always such a fun, enjoyable time bonding and making memories.

In my adult life baking has been something that’s done when there was an occasion like a birthday or mothers day, but not something I’ve ever been particularly adventurous with or spend much time on.

Lockdown (2020) and leaving my teaching job gave me the time, energy and motivation to try out some baking that had always appealed to me but had always been time-consuming or “too hard”. Most importantly though it gave me the chance to bake regularly with my boy, getting him as involved as he wanted to be, mostly by breaking eggs and quality testing, and making those brilliant memories with him like I had when I was young.

Throughout this thread, I will share links to the recipes I used, describe and changes I made and give you our opinion of what we produced. I will also include the recipes for items I made for our activities such as salt dough and play dough.
